PUNXY SADDLE CLUB NEWS revised 7/3/09

We will be working the arena once a week to try to keep it nice for members and also should make for less work come show day.  Check forms and flyers for the high point standings Next member show July 31st, 2009. Please look at the flyers on the website and the calendar for show dates as there was some confusion about final dates.  It's a good chance to try some new classes, meet some new people and have a good time without spending a lot.  Please bring a covered dish to share (no desserts please, club will supply dessert). 

As a reminder when using the arena, please put away any items used and don't leave equipment laying around for someone else to pick up..  Please contact a board member if you can volunteer to help with the shows, we will need arena help, gate keepers, registration, announcers, kitchen and cleanup help.  Even if you can only help for a few hours every bit helps.  Come and support your club! We are having a belt buckle series this year to include open and member shows.  You must be a member  in good standing to participate in the awards, see details in flyers.

If you do not receive e-mails and hear that others do, we probably don't have your e-mail address.Also if you havn't rejoined by now, you have been dropped from our e-mail list, so send in that membership form.   Sometimes information on the application is not legible especially for email addresses. If you are not receiving these e mails and would like to please contact JaneAnn and update your information. Also check the calendar page on this website for events and work day notices. 

 

All members are expected to participate in fund raisers and events.  Everyone is busy, just do what you can to help.   Donations of water or pop are always a good way to help out.  The raffle began July 1st.  Bill Johns will be notifying winners so you don't have to watch your numbers.     

Please check this page for ongoing updates and news.    Next regular Saddle Club meeting is 7/22/09, 7pm. 2009 applications are available on line.  You're prompt completion and return will be greatly appreciated. Please include all information asked for such as on family memberships include all members including children's birthdates and 4h affiliation if applicable making sure information is legible.   This years membership will run until March 1, 2010 enabling the board a little more time at the beginning of the year to organize committees needed.

The board has sent out letters for sponsorships this year, however if you have a business or individual you would like to ask personally for sponsorship funds or donations of other items, please download an application from this website and feel free to do so. 

We have received a annonymous donation of a riding mower, also Barb and Bob Hanley have given us a new picnic table/bench combination.  Thanks to everyones donations of pop and water for our shows.  Our next few projects will be staining the arena, new arena footing, cementing the registration building and possibly fencing around the court yard.

 

The Jefferson County 4H annual County show will be held at PSC this year hosted by Fast and Furious 4H 8/8/09, if you are interested in helping in any capacity, please contact Mary at 952-0095.
